THLA and FHTP Support the Richardson High School Hotel Interns’ UTA Hospitality Showcase Experience.
The Texas Hotel & Lodging Association (THLA) and its sponsored Career and Technical Student Organization, Future Hotel & Tourism Professionals (FHTP) were proud to play a significant role in making the Richardson High School Hospitality Interns’ historic overnight college and industry tour possible.
Active Members
All participating students are active members of the Future Hotel & Tourism Professionals CTSO, which is dedicated to providing real-world learning experiences that place students directly inside hotel environments to explore the many exciting career pathways available in the lodging industry.
Through FHTP, THLA provided financial support that allowed students to stay at the Sheraton Arlington—an opportunity that added professionalism, immersion, and a true industry feel to their two-day Hospitality Showcase experience. This investment reflects THLA’s broader mission of strengthening Texas’s hospitality workforce by connecting students with college partners, hotel leaders, and hands-on learning opportunities that inspire future careers.
By collaborating with valued partners—including the Hotel Association of Tarrant County (HATC), Sheraton Arlington, and the University of Texas at Arlington—THLA and FHTP helped ensure that students gained unparalleled access to behind-the-scenes tours, industry conversations, and a career fair featuring more than 30 hospitality employers. These experiences help young people envision their place in the industry and build confidence in pursuing hospitality-related degrees and career pathways.
