For the second consecutive year THLA’s Membership Team has won the 2020 International Society of Hotel Associations (ISHA) Award for Excellence for Membership.  This marks the seventh time in the past seventeen years that THLA has won this prestigious award for outstanding member services.

ISHA presents its annual Awards of Excellence for the best lodging association programs and services in the nation.  The awards are widely recognized as the “best of the best” within the hotel and lodging association industry representing innovation and creativity that has brought tangible results to the association and its members.

THLA’s Membership Team, led by Carolyn McCall-Squires, has coordinated amazing outreach to our members across Texas in efforts that resulted in dozens of THLA virtual town hall meetings tailored for every region of our state.  To date, we have engaged thousands of participants through our webinars and events this year.  ISHA recognized these efforts as the basis for THLA’s award this year.

Throughout 2020, our membership department and all the THLA staff have been tireless in communicating and caring for our members.  Whether updating you all on important COVID-19 developments, governmental orders, or legal issues pertaining to hotel operations, our entire team has risen to the occasion in these most unprecedented times.
