GSA Releases FY 2027 Per Diem Rates
GSA Releases FY 2027 Per Diem Rates
The federal General Services Agency (GSA) announced federal lodging per diem rates for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY 2027) for cities and areas across the nation will rise from the prior fiscal year. The FY 2027 rates are effective October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.
For the first time in two years, federal per diem rates are going up — the result of sustained advocacy by AHLA to bring these rates closer to what hotels are actually seeing in the market. This win matters beyond government travel too: many private companies use federal per diem rates as a benchmark for their own travel policies, so the ripple effect reaches much further.
A strong hospitality industry means a strong economy. AHLA is proud to have worked alongside the GSA and Congress to secure this increase, and we’ll keep fighting for rates that reflect real market conditions.
The federal per diem rates for Texas are available on this GSA webpage.

Per Diem Rate Rose by $3
The “CONUS” rate is the default federal per diem rate for geographic areas that do not have a specific federal per diem rate set for that locale. The federal CONUS per diem rate for lodging is now $113 per night for FY 2027 for federal government travelers.
The federal daily per diem rate for meals and incidental expenses is $68, with larger metros generally having a M&IE rate between $74 and $80 per day. The M&IE rates are also available for viewing on the GSA webpage.
State Government Travel
For Texas state government travel or Texas local government travel:
State and local government travel mirrors the federal per diem rates. This rate has increased by $3 to $113 for FY 2027. Follow the federal per diem rates (standard federal $113 CONUS or the selected metro area per diem rate, as applicable to your hotel’s location).
