Holiday on the Hill
The holidays are not complete without being a part of Holiday on the Hill on Thursday, December 7 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm in Historic Downtown for the holiday season. There will be plenty of holiday kids’ activities and games, live performances, and of course, photos with Santa. The best part of the night will be the lighting of the grandiose Cedar Hill Christmas tree.
Hillside Village
Hillside Village comes alive during the holiday season with the grandiose tree and decorations around the outdoor mall. Through December 24, create new memories at Santa’s Corner, located by Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe’, by taking pictures with Santa.
For those kids that need extra space and quiet time when visiting, there will be a Sensitive Santa on Sunday, December 10 from 10 am to 11:30 pm.
We have so many events to enjoy this holiday season, but we have also built a reputation as the premier shopping destination for all your holiday shopping needs, in a region with 11 retail centers, most within a convenient one-mile radius of U.S. Highway 67 and FM 1382.

Things Unique to Cedar Hill
At 880 feet above sea level, Cedar Hill boasts the highest elevation between the Red River border with Oklahoma and the Gulf of Mexico, which makes for spectacular scenic outlooks and breathtaking views. Cedar Hill also has some unique stops to take when planning your visit to our city.
On October 8, 1932, what was then First State Bank of Cedar Hill, on the corner of Houston and Cedar streets, the Historic Citizens Bank Building was robbed by Raymond Hamilton, a sidekick of notorious bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde. Now a barber shop, the original vault still sits in the middle of the building for everyone to see.
Before Babe’s Chicken, a popular dining establishment in Historic Downtown moved in, the building at 200 Main Street was the site of Old City Hall. Residing in the shade of the towers, it housed government offices, the library, and a modern, three-bay fire station.
Electro-Magnetic Wave Contraption
Perched atop the building sat a gangly, slightly contrived, not quite state-of-the-art communication device. The Electro-Magnetic Wave Contraption is a funny-looking device you can stop by and see on your way into Babe’s Chicken House.
Since the 1940s, the Cedar Hill Pet Memorial Park has been a staple of our community and in the lives of the pet lovers – some famous – connected with this property. The cemetery was founded by H.H. “Snooky” Davis who was encouraged to open a pet cemetery in the area by Dr. Jack Brundett, a veterinarian who treated animals nationwide and cared for animal actors on movie sets as well as in live acts.
