The Texas Hotel & Lodging Association (THLA) Educational Foundation is excited to announce the return of Groundhog Job Shadow Day on February 2, 2027!
This annual event connects high school students with hotels across Texas for a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the exciting career opportunities available in the lodging industry.
During this four-hour experience, students step outside the classroom and into the world of hospitality, where they meet industry professionals, explore hotel departments, and discover the many career pathways available—from guest services and culinary operations to engineering, sales, finance, and hotel leadership.
Open Your Doors to Future Talent!
In 2026, nearly 200 students from 32 schools participated at 39 hotels across Texas! With the continued support of our hotel partners and educators, we hope to make the 2027 event even more impactful.
We invite THLA member hotels to host up to six students for this exciting career exploration experience. Your participation provides students with valuable industry exposure while introducing your property to potential future employees and leaders.
