State of Texas “Hub” Reception Center for Evacuees: The State of Texas has established the following centers for evacuees needing assistance finding shelter and other necessities.

American Red Cross: As of this time, the American Red Cross is providing only limited emergency sheltering for individuals in need. If you need emergency assistance obtaining a place to stay, please visit this American Red Cross page.

FEMA’s temporary housing assistance program:  As of this time (10:00 pm on Wednesday) FEMA has NOT activated the emergency lodging assistance (ELA) network. 

Hotel occupancy taxes:  As of this time (10:00 pm on Wednesday), hotel occupancy taxes have NOT been exempted for hurricane evacuees.
