On the Road with Justin: A Roadside View of Autumnal Texas
Justin Bragiel, THLA General Counsel
November is a beautiful time of year in Texas, and that’s a good thing when your job description involves meeting with hoteliers across our great state. This November I’ve visited , our members in North Texas, Houston, South Texas, Laredo, the Brazos Valley, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, the Permian Basin, and Galveston.
Our goals for the last month included providing educational seminars for hoteliers, hosting candidate forums for elected officials, visiting with local government leaders, and advocating for a vibrant lodging industry. And, never missing an opportunity to take a selfie on the coast or pay homage to the world’s largest pecan.
As I visited with you, I heard a mix of uncertainty and optimism about what 2017 will hold for our industry, our state, and our nation. We are anticipating both challenges and opportunities in 2017. For example, we are expecting some of the federal government’s burdensome labor regulations will be eased. At the same time, we will be working hard to ensure Texas remains an attractive travel destination for both foreign and domestic visitors.
Through it all, your state hotel association remains committed to the success of the Texas hotel industry. Our hotel association has never been stronger, and we are ready to advocate for you. If you have a concern or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me, or any other member of our team: https://texaslodging.com/meet-our-staff.
We are looking forward to visiting with you soon.
