AHLA’s Luncheon on Workforce Programs in Dallas
Apr 30 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
|Dear AHLA member, |
Join us on April 30 at 12:00 p.m. at the Statler Dallas for a complimentary, member’s-only luncheon with the American Hotel & Lodging Association(AHLA), the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AHLEF) and the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association (THLA) to learn more about our key advocacy issues and initiatives, including our new Hospitality is Working campaign which covers programs in workforce development, employee and guest safety and community investment. We also invite you to join us after the luncheon that same day, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. where Dallas Mayor Rawlings will join AHLA and THLA for a community event at the Statler Dallas to announce a commitment to provide a grant to a local Dallas community-based organization, in partnership to Grads of Life, to train youth in the hospitality industry. The event will feature speeches from Mayor Rawlings and AHLA President & CEO Chip Rogers, among others. Currently, 6 million youth between the ages of 16- and 24-years-old are out of school and out of work across the country but possess the drive and resilience to succeed in the workplace. At the same time, the hospitality industry has 7 million job vacancies nationwide. In Dallas specifically, there is a great need to provide trainings and opportunities for the 487,000 youth looking for employment. Annually, the Dallas hotel industry has over 3,500 job openings and currently over 100 job listings. We hope that you will join us on April 30 for these events. More information will be provided as details become available. If you are able to attend, RSVP is required. Please click here to RSVP or email firstname.lastname@example.org by April 23.
